Thread, BBC’s online fashion magazine fusing eco-friendly fashion with ethics and fair trade, shows us that green fashion can be more than just Birkenstocks and hemp. The online fashion magazine is fun, colorful, and interactive, all while maintaining a clean user interface and appealing to hippies and high-fashionistas alike. Videos, images, and featured products give us a lot to explore.
New features are posted monthly. Some of our favorites include a list of companies that made Thread’s “Ethical Organizations” list as well as articles which explore controversial issues such as animal rights and fashion trends.
As Thread says, “stepping out in style doesn’t have to compromise your beliefs.” With the environment becoming a growing concern, we think that Thread might be paving the way for much more than just a trend.

To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with Thread, although I commend the BBC for its Blood, Sweat and T Shirts programme! It was really eye opening and straight to the point!
